This is a bad turn of events to lose such a beautiful woman who teaches and had great impact on everyone who met her. Those who never met Gina will never know how unlucky they are.
Remembering her brings smiles on my face, also sorrow knowing I will not see her again, but in memories. I feel for Gina's husband, Dave, and her father and the rest of the immediate family. Just remember one thing, never stop riding that bike for it was her greatest joy, ride to honor her, that is what she would have wanted. \|"/

You all have my deepest sympathy and I am very sadden to know this via FaceBook. Gina was a cool & fun person to chat with in the Gallaudet days and she had a special glow for Christ. I thank her for the friendship and I pray for each one of you in grief, let God take its greater comfort to each one of you. In Psalm 23:6 said, "Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Gina is Home today as I believe and she's now riding on a purifyin' white Harley on the highway in Heaven enjoyin' herself because she is free from all pains on earth. We all need to be strong for Gina as she wanted us to be and she awaits for us to meet her in Heaven. God bless each one of you and you all are in my hearts and prayers. Let's thank the Lord for Gina for her friendship, family, and all with us and now Gina and the Lord awaits for us all. God bless all of you.
With Deepest Sympathy & Prayers

Gina & I grew up together. Her family and my family, the Slaters, did many things together, so she brought back many memories for me. Thank you for the wonderful times together. Gina leaving here left a huge hole in my heart but what brought me reassurance is that she is in a far greater place where everything is glorious. I know one day will come when we finally hug each other, and I see her beautiful face again where God will smile upon us. We love all of you, Gina's loving husband Henry, father Paul, and brother Dave & family. Kim & Wayne, and all the Slaters too.

I was Gina's Girl Scout Leader back in the 1970s when she was just a little girl. I have many happy memories of my troop (and especially some of the antics of Gina! She was very precocious & kept me on my toes.) I hadn't seen her in many years. I am so sorry for the family. She will be missed!

Childhood Friend
I grew up with Gina in Virginia a quite long time ago. I was also in the same circle of childhood friends with Kim Slater. When Gina moved away to VSDB in Staunton in 1970's, I haven't seen her much since then. Finally, one time, in other words, last time, in spring '83, I bumped into Gina briefly at Gallaudet University during RIT/GALLY weekend event. I was visiting from Rochester at that time. Upon meeting her in a dorm hallway, I was struck by her beautiful "trademark" smile which helped me recognize her. My fondest memory of Gina was around the early 70's. She was 6 and I was 7. We were riding together in the backseat of her mother's beige 1969 VW Beetle. Her mother, Ruth Tester, was taking my mother and me along with her daughter, Gina, on a long trip through Shenandoah Valley to VSDB in Staunton. Ruth wanted us to see what a deaf school was like. I truly appreciates Paul/Ruth Tester’s memorable visit to my home in Fairfax in the mid 90's and Paul’s recent surprise appearance at my late wife's funeral in Herndon in 2004. Their recent appearances in my life were very important to me because I, as a Deaf person, was completely outside of "Deaf World" for years. Gina and Testers family never treated me differently as "a hearie", that is, a derogatory term applied to a deaf person who thinks like a hearing person. May God bless Gina and comforts her families abundantly.

I have received the fatal news about Gina and wanted to let you know that my prayers and thoughts are with you. I worked with her last year at CHS. I wanted to let you know that she touched my life in many ways but I will always remember her smile and the conversations we had during our free time.
Love, Madi.
